Description from the seller

Rare and beautiful portfolio of three silver-salt photographs printed in the 1990s by the F.lli Alinari laboratory, custodians of Wanda Wulz's archive since 1986.

The prints, measuring 20 x 26 cm, mounted on the original 29.5 x 39.5 cm passe-partout from the Alinari archive, are in excellent condition. This very rare series represents the evolution of Wulz's work, me + cat.

The photograph was created by superimposing the plate of her self-portrait onto the plate of the photo of her cat; the resulting plate creates a final effect that is extraordinary, regarded as a true work of art. A rarity for discerning collectors.

Wulz's work has influenced not only her contemporaries but also subsequent generations of photographers and visual artists. Her experiments anticipated key concepts of surrealism and conceptual photography, helping redefine the boundaries between reality and representation. Moreover, her figure has served as a model of female emancipation in the artistic field, in an era when women were often relegated to marginal roles.
