Biographie of the artist Nguyen Robert 1958.

Born in 1958 in Bên Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work is distinguished by a singular fusion between Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a young age, he has been fascinated by the rural architecture of his environment, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms—all elements that will become the basis of his visual language.

Having always resided in his homeland region, Nguyen Robert over the decades developed a deeply contemporary, modern, and distinctly architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while preserving a poetic sensibility inherent to Vietnamese culture.

His dual Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul infuses gentleness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets timelessness, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual power.

Recognized for his ability to transform daily life into abstract landscapes, Nguyen Robert is today regarded as one of the singular voices of contemporary Delta Mekong painting. He continues his work in his studio in Bên Tre, surrounded by the landscapes that shaped his identity, and continues to exhibit in several galleries across Asia and Europe, captivating collectors and art lovers seeking deeply modern, structured, and vibrant works.
