Biography of painter Nguyen Robert 1958.

Born in 1958 in Bên Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work is distinguished by a singular fusion of Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a young age, he has been fascinated by the rural architecture of his environment, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadow projections of water palms — all elements that will form the basis of his visual language.

Having always been based in his native region, Nguyen Robert over decades developed a deeply contemporary, modern, and resolutely architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while preserving a poetic sensibility intrinsic to Vietnamese culture.

His dual heritage, Franco-Vietnamese, enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul infuses softness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets timelessness, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual impact.

Recognized for his ability to transform daily life into abstract landscapes, Nguyen Robert is now considered one of the singular voices of contemporary Delta Mekong painting. He continues his work in his Bên Tre studio, surrounded by the landscapes that shaped his identity, and he continues to exhibit in several galleries in Asia and Europe, captivating collectors and art enthusiasts seeking deeply modern, structured, and vibrant works."
