Description from the seller
BODEGÓN VIVO is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This painting transforms the tradition of still life into a vibrant scene where objects do not rest but seem to dialogue with one another. Fruits, ceramics and fabrics coexist in a dynamic balance that breaks the usual stillness of the genre, giving rise to a composition full of energy and movement.
The chromatic contrast is the main protagonist: the intense red background activates the whole surface, while the greens, oranges and blues build a color symphony that expands across the table. Each element is treated as an autonomous color plane, which reinforces the sense of rhythm and vitality. The fruits —pears, apples and citrus— not only add volume but also an almost sculptural presence, heightened by defined outlines and light contrasts. The ceramic pieces, especially the white pitcher and the small decorated vase, introduce a counterpoint of calm and balance within the whole.
The brushwork is expressive and direct, visible in the folds of the fabric and in the construction of the objects, which provides a rich texture and a sense of immediacy. The table, far from being a neutral support, becomes an active pictorial field where color unfolds freely.
BODEGÓN VIVO is not a static representation, but a celebration of color and matter. A painting that beats, that moves, and that turns the everyday into an intense and character-filled visual experience.
