Acrylic on thick paper, brush-signed, size A3. Original work by Antonio Codina in which the figure of Laocoön from that Roman-era sculptural ensemble located in the Vatican Museums is depicted.
This work is part of a series on the same technique, in which the aim is to delve into both classical representational forms, the subversion of myths as well as their contemporary adaptation, isolating the figures and their meanings to the detriment of their strength as an expressive object. This is not a copy-and-paste, but rather a search for the maximum expressiveness of the work in a solemn manner.
This work has not yet been exhibited in a gallery, and will be included in its overall collection as of November 2026.
