Jara Marzulli, La bambina e le api, an oil on canvas painting from 2012 in the Expressionism style, 100 x 70 cm, origin Italy, hand-signed, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
The Girl and the Bees
Oil painting on canvas, refined in the handling of ochre and yellow hues, with bright and light and fluid brushstrokes, in a more expressionist and, at times, symbolist style. The work belongs to the 'clear' period (2012-13-14), a very important phase in which the artist explored renewing a lost identity, through mythological stories and abundant symbolism of the feminine, via glossy ribbons and cut braids or the presence of insects or birds.
The girl is suspended in this magical atmosphere and is surrounded by bees, which emerge from her mouth as if piercing through her body, which has become part of nature.
The scene invites reflection that recalls ancestral depictions and legends, such as the miracle of Saint Rita, associated precisely with the presence of bees.
Jara Marzulli
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari with top honors, her painting style becomes immediately recognizable especially for the unmistakable expressiveness in the faces, for the symbolic elements and the refined painting technique. Through selections she has gathered international experience regarding contemporary figuration.
Numerous are the competitions in which she is awarded and selected, prestigious international art exhibitions concerning contemporary figuration, in various parts of Italy and abroad.
Her works are present in pinacothecas, in museums such as those in Athens, Catania and the Vittoriale degli italiani, in many publications and in private collections around the world.
