Stained Glass Window Hanging Panel - Theo van Zanten (Edam) - Maritime Scene
Object: Hand-painted stained glass panel
Artist: Theo van Zanten (Edam, Netherlands)
Period: Mid 20th century (c. 1950–1960)
Technique: Craft hand-painted stained glass set in an oval leaded framework.
Subject: A detailed historical sailing ship (galleon/barque) on a rolling sea.
Condition: Excellent / Exceptionally deep in color
This specific lot stands out for its outstanding state of preservation. Where comparable objects often show color loss due to years of UV exposure, this panel has kept its deep, saturated pigments completely. The glass is completely free of cracks or hairlines and the lead is in a stable, solid condition.
