AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Original early work by Cornelis Raaphorst (Netherlands, 1875-1954) 'playing kittens'

Cornelis Raaphorst is one of the best-known Dutch cat painters. He managed to capture the behavior of the kittens in a very natural and highly detailed way on canvas. The work is a pleasure to look at, a masterpiece!

The painting is fitted with a gorgeous frame that gives the color scheme of the work an extra dimension.

The painting is signed in the lower right corner.

The photos have been taken with care. Some color nuances in real life may differ.

Canvas dimensions are 39 x 49 cm
Dimensions including frame 60 x 70 cm

Prefer pickup. Personal delivery by arrangement so I can be sure that the next owner receives the work in its current very good condition.
If pickup or personal delivery is not possible, it can be shipped (carefully packed).

The painting has been professionally double-framed,
The work, after inheritance in 1944, was in 2019 at Adams Amsterdam Veilingen where authenticity was established.
I have also had the work personally checked by the auctioneer from Medusa Auctioneers, and here too it was established that this is an original early work by Raaphorst. (As seen by the lesser color nuances distributed across the work compared to his later works which contain more vibrant colors.)

The work has been previously cleaned and some small retouches have not been repaired.

The overall condition is good. The work has been expertly re-framed in a perfectly matching frame.
