AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

“Kenosis” (2026)
Oil on canvas
130 x 100 cm
A figure stands with its back to the viewer, arms at its sides, the bare skin of shoulders and spine rendered luminous against deep blue darkness. The head is turned just enough to suggest awareness of being seen - but not enough to reveal the face, which remains withheld, folded back into the blue. VANTA has drawn the entire form from a single blue foundation through paint removal, the figure’s outline and the musculature of the back emerging through degrees of subtraction from the same saturated ground.
The removal strokes follow the body’s contours - the curve of shoulder blades, the line of the spine, the slight asymmetry of the turn. Represented by S-Gallery and available on Catawiki. The figure glows against the surrounding dark, more blue-bright than the field it inhabits, its form defined as much by the darkness pressing in at its edges as by what has been removed to reveal it.
Kenosis - the act of self-emptying, of relinquishing. The figure offers its back, withholds its face, and stands in blue silence at the precise boundary between presence and disappearance.
Shipping:
The work is delivered without a frame (professional packaging, rolled in a tube). it can easily be restretched by a professional or on your own, this is also cheaper then the otherwise increased cost of shipping when sending paintings of this size stretched
The measurements indicated are those of the painting stretched and mounted on a frame (The actual
measurements of the canvas are larger to allow it to be mounted on a frame 2-4cm thick.
