Seller description
Tere Ormazabal, born in Bilbao, Spain.
Art photographer with an extensive track record in creation, teaching, and institutional collaboration.
Graduated in Geography and History from the UPV-EHU, she has developed work focused on artistic photography and alternative techniques such as cyanotype, Van Dyke brown, liquid emulsion, lithographic film, and image transfers—both Polaroid transfers and digital emulsion transfers.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and cultural centers in the Basque Country since the late 1990s and she has received national photography awards.
Artwork details
This work is transfer number 0270.
Paper size: 69 x 47 cm. Image size: 39 x 28 cm.
Unique piece, signed by the artist on the front of the photograph.
Includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
High-quality pigment ink print that guarantees a museum-grade finish and ensures it remains unaltered over time.
The print is carefully packaged with protective material to ensure its proper conservation during transport.
Description of the digital emulsion transfer technique
It is a technique I have developed personally, inspired by the classic emulsion transfer of Polaroid instant film, but adapted to the digital workflow.
It consists of printing an image with pigment inks onto a prepared support so that, when immersed in cold water, the ink layer (the emulsion) can detach and be manually transferred to a quality art paper.
During the process the image is manipulated directly, generating subtle variations, textures, and folds that make each copy a unique piece.
Transfers can be made in different sizes—up to A2—and in color or black and white.
The result combines digital precision and a handcrafted finish, with an image protected by a coating film that prevents easy scratching and offers good durability.
