Tere Ormazabal, born in Bilbao, Spain.
Artistic photographer with an extensive track record in creation, teaching and institutional collaboration.
Graduated in Geography and History from UPV-EHU, she has developed work focused on artistic photography and techniques such as cyanotype, Van Dyke brown, liquid emulsion, lithographic film and image transfers both polaroid and digital emulsion transfer.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and cultural centers of the Basque Country since the late nineties and she has received national photography awards.
Work details
This work is transfer number 0319.
Paper size: 68 x 47 cm. Image size: 22.5 x 22 cm.
Unique piece, signed by the artist on the front of the photo.
Includes certificate of authenticity signed.
High-quality inkjet printing with pigment inks ensuring a museum-quality finish, and allowing it to remain unaltered over time.
The print is carefully packaged with protective material to ensure proper preservation during transport.
Description of the digital emulsion transfer technique
It is a technique I have developed personally, inspired by the classic emulsion transfer of Polaroid instant film, but adapted to the digital workflow.
It consists of printing an image with pigment inks on a support prepared so that, when submerged in cold water, the ink layer (the emulsion) can detach and be manually transferred to a high-quality art paper. During the process the image is manipulated directly, generating slight variations, textures and folds that make each copy a unique piece.
Transfers can be made in different sizes —up to A2— and in both color and black and white. The result combines digital precision and artisan finish, with an image protected by a film that covers it, so it does not scratch easily and offers good durability.
