Description from the seller
A0000002001
Example in very good overall condition, maintaining the sober aesthetics and the own personality of the Waterman vest-pocket pens from the early 20th century.
The body and cap in black ebonite present a uniform and deep tone, with a natural satin finish appropriate to its age. Micro signs of use and light marks from the passage of time are visible only under direct light and upon close inspection. No structural cracks, fissures, or deformations are observed. The threads retain a good fit and allow a firm and secure closure.
The original Waterman’s Ideal nib in solid 14K gold is complete and well aligned. The engraving remains clearly legible. It shows natural patina and light superficial marks consistent with its age, with no material loss or aggressive interventions. The heart-shaped breather hole is preserved and well defined. The ebonite feed remains correctly positioned and fitted.
The eyedropper system is intact, with a clean interior and functioning. No alterations in the internal thread nor visible repairs are observed.
Overall, it is an authentic and honest piece, with wear appropriate to more than a century of age, without invasive restorations and preserving its original character.
Pen ready for collection or careful use.
Will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
Happy bidding!
