Montblanc Writers Edition Alexandre Dumas fountain pen, made in Germany, with a resin body in amber-brown marble and gold-plated clip, rings and cap, 13 cm long and 1.3 cm in diameter, serial no. 07065/16000 N, dating to 2000–2010, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
The Montblanc Writers Edition Alexandre Dumas (1996) pen is presented in very good overall condition, showing an excellent level of conservation consistent with a carefully maintained collectible piece.
The cap in polished black resin retains a deep and uniform shine, with very slight surface micro-scratches only visible under close inspection and direct light, typical of occasional use and the passage of time. No dents, cracks, or loss of material are evident.
The marbled resin body keeps its original amber and brown tones, with a well-defined grain and no discolorations, cracks, or structural marks. The surface has a clean and even finish, with no signs of significant wear.
The gold-plated elements — clip, rings, and cap band — are in very good condition, with bright gold and no visible plating loss. The clip perfectly preserves its decorative relief, including the portrait of Alexandre Dumas, with clearly defined edges.
The Montblanc star on the upper cap is complete, centered, and undamaged.
The engraved serial numbers and manufacturing marks remain crisp and legible.
The twist mechanism operates smoothly and precisely, deploying and retracting the nib correctly.
Overall, this is a very well-preserved specimen, ideal for both a discerning collector and occasional use, standing out for its excellent aesthetic presence and proper functionality.
Good luck with the auction!
