Description from the seller
"Brussels Sprouts" comes from the series: "Picture Me" and is a beautiful print on Canson Fibre Rag paper, mounted on 2mm PVC. The size is 77x57 cm and it is the first edition of 12 copies.
The story of "Picture Me":
How do you preserve the person you do not want to lose? Photographer Ursula van de Bunte immortalizes her model and muse Paul Rooyackers by capturing him each time from a different perspective, in a new way and in a varying context. From this process, the photo series in this book was born, of which the first photo was shot in 2015 — almost a decade earlier by now. ‘Write what should not be forgotten’, says author Isabel Allende; but in this case, what must not be forgotten is captured in images rather than in words.
Nowadays Ursula’s portraits of Paul hang all over the world. Ursula designs every photo in detail; from concept to styling, makeup and photography — she does everything herself, together with Paul. With her work she wants to show that not much is needed to tell a new story again and again, and that there is an inexhaustible source of beauty in the simplicity of the everyday; she sees it as her mission to make that beauty visible with her creations; everything is already there, as long as we do not forget to truly look.
The Picture Me series received a lot of recognition: a book of the same name was published, the photos were shown at various exhibitions in the Netherlands, and the series won the audience prize during the Fotovakschool exhibition in Amsterdam.
