British artist Francis Brook is today one of the most prolific painters immortalizing old cars. He is the son of a photographer who portrayed the legendary rally in 1960 - Le Mans and Dayton. Fascinated by slender silhouettes, shiny chrome, old wood and classic dashboard, he has developed his own realistic style capturing the smallest data of his favorite cars by running a brush in a way that does not imitate photography. The walls of hundreds of motor clubs across Europe are decorated with Brook's paintings, and many collectors order portraits of their masterpieces from him.
This is a representation of a Jaguar E-Type Series 1, a British sports car produced between 1961 and 1974. Renowned for its aerodynamic design and advanced engineering, it is considered an icon of 20th-century automotive design.
Designed by Malcolm Sayer, it was famously described by Enzo Ferrari as “the most beautiful car ever made.” The E-Type is also part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art.
