The Macallan Edition No. 5 is a limited edition single malt that celebrates the complexity of the natural colour of whisky. This bottle is part of the famous "Edition Series," a collection that explores Macallan's unique approach to whisky production.
For this edition, Macallan collaborated with the Pantone Color Institute to create a unique shade of purple for the packaging. The purple colour was chosen because it is the most complex of the colour spectrum, reflecting the complexity of the whisky maturation process.
Unlike other editions, No. 5 focuses exclusively on the use of American oak barrels. This choice was made to enhance the sweet and spicy notes typical of this wood, maintaining a bright and 100% natural golden colour.
