Aldo Gentilini, Italian artist, presents the acrylic painting Composizione, an original edition from the 1970s–1980s, 50 by 40 cm, signed by hand, sold with the original frame in good condition.
Description from the seller
Acrylic on canvas.
Master Aldo Gentilini.
In good condition.
Signed on the front lower area, while on the back is the certificate of authenticity issued directly by the artist.
Canvas dimensions 50 x 40 cm.
A detail like all of his works and unusual given the contained size, this work by Master Aldo Gentilini is part of a private collection.
It is certainly an interesting piece for someone with a small space to furnish and enliven with taste, in Abstract style, and it comes with its original frame which is in good condition, but without the glass, which could be put back if desired.
The images shown are an integral part of the description.
It will be carefully packed and shipped with express courier and tracking.
Aldo Gentilini was born in Genoa in 1911. From a young age he felt a strong religious vocation that led him to enter the cloistered monastery of Pietrasanta, where he stayed for three years pursuing philosophical studies, before dedicating himself as a self-taught artist to artistic research, which would lead him to exhibit in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
A man of faith, he believes that only through art can the divine be reached. And this idea will underpin all his work:
"I try to create emptiness – Gentilini declared – This emptiness provokes a kind of catharsis in me: I observe sensitive values that I respect, I reevaluate them, but I never know how I will fall into the painting and this is the realization of a truth toward a sign never thought of."
He was an artist practicing asceticism, to imitate the Saint to whom he was devoted. The two natures, that human and that aesthetic, coincide perfectly.
