Sandra Chinelate presents Abigail, an oil on panel artwork, 83.5 × 63 cm, 2.3 kg, signed by hand bottom left, 2025, in excellent condition, an original edition sold directly by the artist from Italy with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Oil painting on a wooden panel.
Size: 83.5 cm x 63 cm, 2.7 cm thick due to the rear wooden frame that supports and protects the structure from potential deformations.
Signed at the bottom left.
From 2025
With certificate of authenticity.
The work portrays a female figure in a pose of absorbed contemplation, laid on a chair that rises along a surreal axis, diagonally opposing the euphoric vitality of the chicken on the red armchair. The style, in a refined balance between abstraction and figuration, reveals a painterly essence distant from aiming at immediate emotions. The artist’s intent is not commotion, but the exploration of the bizarre: a dualism in which woman and bird exclude and complete each other simultaneously.
Sandra Chinelate, Brazilian, works on the physical and existential inquiry carried out with the tools of figurative painting. A graduate in literature, and as a child a self-taught artist, she moves to Italy and, influenced by her multifaceted sociolinguistic gaze, conducts her artistic research with the aim of promoting an encounter between different social subjects, where different ages, skin colors, passions, and human perplexities are contemplated from a strong desire on the part of the artist to exalt their facets, safeguarding her characters from any pre-judgment. Since 2005 she has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows. She works with oil and mixed media on canvas and panel.
