The painting was created with a special and unusual technique. The artist uses no brushes for his art, applying the acrylic paint directly to the canvas by hand. The paint is poured very thinly onto unprimed cotton fabric and massaged into the fabric. This allows the paint to penetrate deep into the fabric and you see virtually no brushstrokes. The artist repeats this process several times. The paintings consist of up to ten layers. This creates very fine color transitions and nuances that are difficult to reproduce faithfully in photos.
