Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Olivetti M200 from 1988, a rare and exceptionally preserved example that is fully functional, with a NEC V40 processor, 640 KB RAM, an integrated monochrome monitor, two 3.5" floppy drives, and the original Italian keyboard including its rare rigid plastic cover, overall in excellent condition apart from a cracked spiral cable sheath.
Description from the seller
Rare Olivetti M200 specimen in excellent preservation and perfectly functioning. The product features plastics free of scratches and not yellowed — an extremely rare factor for an M200 nearly 40 years old. Released in 1988, the Olivetti M200 represents the smaller sibling of the more famous M24.
The PC passes the main BIOS checks. The processor is NEC V40 (uPD70208), a great variant of the 8088/8086, faster and more performant.
- RAM: 640 KB (tested and working);
- Monitor: Integrated monochrome, sharp phosphors, excellent geometry and brightness;
- Drives: Dual 3.5" floppy drives (tested and bootable);
- Diagnostics: The system passes the Resident Diagnostics (as per the photo).
The specimen includes its own original keyboard, characterized by excellent preservation conditions and non-yellowed plastics. Italian layout and perfectly functioning. The keyboard also includes the rare rigid plastic cover, yellowed but in excellent condition.
The only defect relates to the external coating of the spiral keyboard cable, which due to age shows fraying of the sheath (chemical defect typical of the original material and visible on other Olivetti keyboards of similar age). However, the cable is electrically intact and the keyboard responds correctly to commands. See photo.
Kept always in a dry place and free of dust, note the final images relating to the internal condition of the monitor where the absence of dust and dirt is evident.
An iconic and unmissable item. Extremely hard to find, especially in such preservation conditions. For connoisseurs, enthusiasts and collectors of Olivetti machines.
