Description from the seller
Mental Alignment
“Mental Alignment” is a work that delves into the complexity of the human mind and the constant attempt to organize inner chaos. In this composition, the head transforms into a Rubik’s Cube — a system in continuous mutation, where every attempt to align one side inevitably reshapes all the others.
We are all trying to resolve something within ourselves: to align emotions, achieve stability, meet expectations. This piece reflects that silent tension between control and uncertainty, revealing not only the pressure to “get it right,” but also the persistence of those who keep trying regardless.
The multiple faces display emotions, symbols, and ambiguities, expressing the complexity of human feeling. Rather than portraying failure, “Mental Alignment” captures movement — the ongoing process of consciousness striving for balance, meaning, and identity.
This artwork was one of the central pieces in my first major solo exhibition held at WOW – Off the Wine, in Porto, where I presented around 40 original works. It is also part of my international trajectory, following my participation in exhibitions in São Paulo.
I am a Brazilian artist whose artistic journey has been developed in Portugal. Although I have painted since childhood, it was around four years ago that I began my professional practice, developing a distinctive visual language marked by psychological, symbolic, and narrative elements.
This artwork is a unique piece. I do not work with reproductions or editions — each creation is one of a kind, reinforcing its artistic and collectible value. Only two works from this body of work remain available, making this a rare opportunity.
I am a self-taught Brazilian artist, based in Portugal since childhood, where I developed my artistic identity and creative vision. I first connected with art at a very young age, but it was only in 2022 that I decided to leave my career in gastronomy, where I worked as a chef, to fully dedicate myself to the visual arts.
This transition happened unexpectedly, starting from a spontaneous drawing that immediately caught people’s attention. That moment made me realize the potential of my work and led me to pursue art professionally.
In just four years, I have already held exhibitions in São Paulo and a solo exhibition in Porto, at WOW – World of Wine, where I presented around 40 works, nearly all of which were acquired by collectors.
My work moves between abstract and conceptual art, with a strong focus on psychology and human perception. More than creating something visually appealing, I aim to develop pieces with multiple layers of meaning, inviting reflection and questioning. I often incorporate subtle details and hidden elements that are not immediately visible, encouraging a deeper and more lasting connection with the viewer.
I believe art should go beyond aesthetics. It should provoke emotion, create discomfort, and stimulate thought. Each person brings their own interpretation to a piece, and that is what makes art truly powerful.
I work exclusively with unique pieces, reinforcing their rarity and long-term value. I see art not only as a form of expression but also as an investment asset, and my trajectory has shown consistent growth, with increasing interest both nationally and internationally.
Alongside my visual work, I am currently developing a science fiction literary project, expanding my creative universe beyond visual arts, with future ambitions in storytelling and cinema.
I am 31 years old, and although still in the early stages of my career, I believe I am building a strong and promising path.
