Photographic print of the work 'Containers' by the renowned aerial photographer Karel Tomeï. The well-known aerial photograph of containers (often referred to as part of the harbor or industrial series) by Karel Tomeï was taken in the period 2007-2008.
The photo is among others included in the well-known photo book NLXL Made in Holland, published by Scriptum. This book was released in 2008, among others.
Karel Tomeï (Rotterdam, 1941) is a Dutch photographer who specializes in aerial photography. He published several books with aerial photos of the Netherlands and Belgium. Furthermore he photographed the Antilles and South Africa from the air. Karel Tomeï is known for his tight compositions of Dutch infrastructure, including harbors and container terminals.
In 1988 he received the Kodak Award. In 1990 King Gustaf of Sweden awarded him a prize for artistic photography of landscape and environment. In 2003 TNT Post issued two stamps with Tomeï's photos. He first exhibited in 1988 and later, among others, in Moscow (1998), Japan and the departure hall of Schiphol Airport (2005).
This is a photographic print, number 2 from an edition of 30 copies. The print is hand-signed on the passe-partout, measures 49 x 49 cm and is in excellent condition. The frame itself shows the usual scratches and wear. The certificate is on the back of the frame.
