Biography

Vincent Huot is a contemporary French painter. His geometric abstraction offers an intimate dialogue between shapes and colors, transparencies and volumes. In Huot's painting universe the color is freed from the subject and becomes the subject itself. He exclusively uses acrylic through strict solid colors, without any brushstroke effect, in three very thin layers. No color is juxtaposed so that the whole appears uniform and smooth. The artist's approach means wanting to establish a positive energy where calm and serenity emerge through colored spaces in a simple but yet orderly, constructed way, aiming to dialogue in harmony between strength and lightness.
