Mixed and artisanal technique (based on his own photography) on sustainable wood. The photo is affixed to the wood and accentuated with acrylic paint. Then damar resin and light yellow beeswax are applied and burned with an original and authentic developed technique. This makes the artwork very rich in texture with numerous predominantly vertical lines (due to the resin/wax burning process).
Materials used include: wood, photograph, filler, acrylic paint, damar resin, light-yellow beeswax and varnish (glossy).
Display conditions: never outdoors, in direct sunlight or in damp spaces.
The top layer of the artwork consists of a special varnish that protects against dust. The back is signed by the artist. Also supplied with a certificate of authenticity. My work is created amidst emotions. I follow my feelings about how the process is progressing and what materials the artwork needs. Throughout this, the science and precision within me are constantly stirred. In my profession as a hospital pharmacist, it requires precision and accuracy. In recent years, I have increasingly fused my work as a pharmacist and a visual artist. I use chemical compounds and create my own perfectly orchestrated combination of Damar resin and beeswax, for example. To influence the viscosity of my paint and wax, I use chemicals like sorbitol and glycerol, and I incorporate burnt pages from pharmaceutical books into my artworks. I am intensely drawn to the unknown: an unknown effect, an unknown material, and an unknown twist of work. It is what motivates me to create new work in this epic battle between the flow of feelings and the science of pharmacy.
