Description from the seller

Valentin Prévot's work is realistic and figurative. Through his drawings and paintings, he carries out a process of political and identity-related research on his history as well as that of his family. His current artistic work aims to pay homage to him but also to keep his ideas and his journey alive, to anchor them in time.
With the help of portraits, paintings/drawings as well as the will to understand and appropriate this history, Valentin has been working for several months now on a series of "graphic objects" and installations aimed at complementing this archival background, adding his gaze, his sensitivity and his voice as an artist.
Some of his works are inspired by Schiele, Kokoschka but also German Expressionists like Dix or Grosz. The questions of transmission and intergenerational traumas constitute the central theme of his work. Valentin has understood that through this history he could address all subjects that personally matter to him, such as questions of identity, the work of research and transmission, ideological, philosophical and political excesses...
