Artist biography: Nguyen Robert, born 1958.

Born in 1958 in Bên Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work stands out for a singular fusion between Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a young age, he was fascinated by the rural architecture of his surroundings, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms — all elements that would become the foundation of his visual language.

Having always lived in his native region, Nguyen Robert has developed over decades a deeply contemporary, modern, and decidedly architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms, and geometric abstraction, while preserving a poetic sensitivity rooted in Vietnamese culture.

His Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul injects softness, spirituality, and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets the timeless, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual power.

Recognized for his ability to transform the everyday into abstract landscapes, Nguyen Robert is today regarded as one of the distinctive voices in the delta Mekong contemporary painting. He continues his work in his workshop in Bên Tre, surrounded by landscapes that forged his identity, and continues to exhibit in several galleries in Asia and Europe, captivating collectors and art lovers seeking deeply modern, structured, and vibrant works.
