Tom Orsini
Everett Thomas Orsini, born in October 1946, has always lived in Rochester, New York. He graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High in 1964. Among other studies, he studied Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Art History at the University of Rochester, attending evening classes. After retiring in 2003, after spending 30 years as a civilian police employee, Tom began taking on commissions for watercolor portraits of houses in the Rochester area. His retirement allowed him to travel across much of the United States with his partner, drawing inspiration from landscapes and figurative acrylic works.
By combining caricatures with architecture or local landscapes, the “Vignettes” were born, an opportunity for Tom to tell a mini-story through the expressions and postures of his characters. Many wonder where he gets inspiration for many of the caricatures. They come from daily life and from the many people Tom has met during his 30 years on the streets of Rochester and on his travels in the United States, as well as elsewhere.
