Burmese amber - Amber

Splendid specimen of natural Burmese amber containing numerous fossil insects, visible in good three-dimensionality inside the resin.
Burmese amber, also known as Myanmar amber, primarily comes from the Hukawng Valley and is renowned for the exceptional quality of its biological inclusions. This amber is dated to about 99–100 million years ago, dating back to the Cretaceous period, long before the era of the great dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex.
The inclusion shows an insect with an elongated body and two pairs of well-developed wings, characteristic of the Odonata, a group of ancient winged predators. This type of inclusion is noticeably rarer than the common Diptera (flies) found in amber.
The amber presents an intense golden color tending toward brown, with good transparency that allows observation of the insect’s anatomical details. A specimen of notable interest both collector-wise and scientifically, ideal for display or advanced collection.
