Biography of painter Nguyen Robert, born 1958.

Born in 1958 in Ben Tre, an authentic village nestled in the heart of the Mekong Delta, Nguyen Robert is a Franco-Vietnamese artist whose work stands out for a unique fusion between Asian traditions and Western artistic influences. From a very young age, he has been fascinated by the rural architecture of his surroundings, the lines of traditional houses, the volumes of floating markets, the shadows cast by water palms—all elements that will form the basis of his visual language.

Based in his homeland region for many years, Nguyen Robert develops over decades a deeply contemporary, modern and architectural style. His paintings explore structures, lines, urban rhythms and geometric abstraction, while maintaining a poetic sensibility tied to Vietnamese culture.

His Franco-Vietnamese heritage enriches his approach: he borrows from the West the rigor of modern compositions and the boldness of contrasts, while his Vietnamese soul injects gentleness, spirituality and fluidity into his works. The result is a pictorial universe where modernity meets the timeless, where geometry dialogues with light, creating paintings of great visual power.

Renowned for his ability to transform everyday life into abstract landscapes, Nguyen Robert is today regarded as one of the distinct voices in the Mekong Delta's contemporary painting. He continues his work in his Ben Tre studio, surrounded by the landscapes that shaped his identity, and keeps exhibiting in several galleries in Asia and Europe, captivating collectors and art lovers seeking deeply modern, structured and vibrant works.
