Hand-carved African Makonde chess set

The board and the pieces are made of wood. Ebony or Bongossi were used for the dark squares and pieces. Mahogany or maple were used for the light squares and pieces.
The pieces feature stylized, tribal African motifs and clan members.

The diameter is 35 cm.
