Description from the seller
Large original work by Salentijn, beautifully framed and in good condition.
Image size: 50 x 40 cm
Kees Salentijn pursues his education at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, department of free painters. O.B. Kat is there his most important mentor. Salentijn studies paintings in the Prado in Madrid during his study period and he stays for several months with a Berber family in Morocco.
In the eighties Salentijn travels a lot to Spain. He feels connected in this period with artists of diverse movements, who to a greater or lesser extent advocate spontaneous unconscious creation and do not pursue aesthetic depiction as their primary aim. He combines the cheerful Cobra pictorial language with the influences of Spanish culture.
