The work presents a refined floral still life characteristic of 17th-century Dutch painting, where an elaborate bouquet of flowers is arranged in a dark vase on a neutral surface. The composition stands out for its chromatic richness, combining warm tones — ochres, reds, and whites — with cooler accents, all on a dark background that enhances the chiaroscuro effect.

The flowers are depicted with great naturalism, at different stages of blooming, which suggests a symbolic reading tied to the evanescence of life, typical of the Baroque vanitas tradition. Small details such as fruits or vegetal elements arranged on the table are also observed, enriching the scene and adding compositional dynamism. The directed lighting and meticulous treatment of textures reveal a clear influence of Flemish and Dutch naturalism of the period.

The work is presented in a blackened wooden, moulded-profile frame, with an inner gold filet that creates an elegant contrast with the darkness of the whole. The frame, with sober and classical lines, reinforces the Baroque character of the painting and adds visual depth to the composition.
