Description from the seller
LA FRANCESA is a 70 x 100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This work is a portrait where elegance is expressed through restraint. The figure, with direct gaze and a firm posture, conveys a silent confidence that is built more from attitude than from gesture. There is in it a subtle distance, a sophistication that does not need to impose itself.
The dress, in a vibrant range of reds and yellows, becomes the chromatic axis of the work. Its vertical fall elongates the figure and contrasts with the green background, generating a balance between intensity and serenity. The black belt introduces a anchoring point that structures the composition and adds sobriety. Beside it, the floral still life —with red and pink roses in a decorated ceramic— expands the scene toward the ornamental and the domestic. These elements are not secondary: they dialogue with the figure, reinforcing an atmosphere where the intimate and the aesthetic merge. The decorative panel on the right-hand side acts as a visual echo, repeating the floral language in a more graphic plane.
The painting oscillates between portrait and still life, between human presence and decorative construction. Everything is carefully balanced so that no part dominates completely, but rather coexist in a sophisticated harmony.
LA FRANCESA is an image of identity and style, where the figure presents itself as part of a broader aesthetic universe, in which beauty is built through color, rhythm and composition.
