Artistic Description
This large-format work by Raphael Béjar is an exceptional example of material abstraction from the late 1970s. Under the title "Tapis Tibétain", the artist offers a visual meditation on memory, Eastern spirituality, and the erosion of time.
Technically, the piece stands out for its tactile richness. Béjar uses thick layers of matter with deliberate cracks (craquelure), giving the surface a geological quality, akin to stone or adobe.
It is a work of strong physical presence and conceptual charge, ideal for collectors interested in European Informalism and works that explore the three-dimensionality of the pictorial support. The excellent documentation on the reverse (signatures and original label) guarantees the authenticity and historical value of this museum piece.
