Description from the seller

Large plain top sheet in woven cotton—canvas—of white-ivory antique color, entirely hand-embroidered.
Decorative on the reverse side—9? at 10 cm from the edge a delicate frieze of ‘Jour Venise’ stitches; at 10 cm from this frieze there are openwork elements—warp work—with square-shaped gaps made in crochet; at 10 cm from this frieze, a new frieze in the ‘Jour Venise’ stitch in the center of the sheet over an area of 30 cm by 20 cm in height—a monogram executed in the ‘Bourdon plat’ stitch, two uppercase letters “RB” interlaced with each other.
The corners of this sheet are finished with a baguette-fold.
On the edges—the plain weave—at each end—the hem is hand-stitched with a small stitch.
The work is entirely hand-made—likely for a trousseau.
Plain-weave fabric bought by the meter—built up and embroidered.
The fabric likely comes from either a spinning mill in the North or in the Vosges.
Light stains due to folding and storage.
