Description from the seller

Description of the work:

Drawing on Japanese paper. The work is an original signed by the artist Valentin Prévot. Its format is 40x50 cm. It is sold framed directly by the artist with a certificate of authenticity. Its condition is excellent.

The work will be shipped framed in a protected package.

Valentin Prévot's work is realistic and figurative. Through his drawings and paintings, he undertakes a political and identitarian research process on his history as well as that of his family. His current artistic work aims to pay homage to him but also to keep his ideas and his journey alive, to anchor them in time.

With the help of portraits, paintings/drawings, and the desire to understand and appropriate this history, Valentin has been working for several months on a series of “graphic objects” and installations intended to complement this archive background, to add his perspective, his sensitivity, and his voice as an artist.

Some of his works are inspired by Schiele, Kokoschka, but also by German Expressionists like Dix or Grosz. The central theme of his work is the questions of transmission and intergenerational trauma. Valentin has understood that through this history he could address all the subjects that personally matter to him, such as questions of identity, the work of research and transmission, ideological, philosophical, and political excesses...
