Description from the seller
ABOUT THIS WORK
Physicists have discovered that below the “Planck scale,” the laws of physics as we understand them begin to break down. In this painting, Spacetime is Doomed, I use layered color and textured acrylic to evoke this mysterious threshold. The overlapping surfaces suggest shifting dimensions and the complex interplay between competing physical theories—where structure dissolves and a deeper, less knowable reality begins to emerge.
2023 | acrylic on canvas | 36x36 inches
ARTIST BIO
Kim Powell is an American multidisciplinary artist and graduated of the Rhode Island School of Design, whose large-scale paintings emerge through intuitive abstraction. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Hilma af Klint, as well as Tantric Hindu art and non-dual philosophy, Powell creates works rich in color, movement, and depth. She approaches painting as a spiritual practice—a way of exploring the subtle dimensions of consciousness. Working primarily in acrylic and oil, Powell integrates intuition with astrological awareness, resulting in luminous, abstract compositions that invite expanded perception and inner resonance.
