Limoges porcelain bonbonnière box, round and slightly domed, 13 cm diameter, 6 cm high, 365 g, blue cobalt ground with gilt decoration, central medallion with a putto playing a flute in grisaille on red, early 20th century, interior white porcelain, origin Limoges, France, marked on the back with a golden Limoges blazon, LMENAU and 7777, plus an 11 under the base; excellent condition with minor wear to the gilding.

Limoges porcelain sweet box – romantic angel motif – cobalt blue and gilding – early 20th century
Elegant Limoges porcelain sweet box, of a gently domed round shape, adorned with a romantic motif inspired by the 18th century.
The lid features a central medallion depicting a cherub (putti) playing a flute, rendered in grisaille on a red ground, surrounded by a geometric pattern made up of triangular reserves with a polychrome floral motif, enhanced with gold gilding.
The piece rests on a deep cobalt blue background, characteristic of quality Limoges productions. The central decoration is applied as a transfer with painted finishes, evidencing careful workshop craftsmanship.
Interior in white glazed porcelain.
Mark on the reverse: a golden shield “Limoges” with the inscription “LMENAU” and the number “7777” integrated into the mark. The number “11” is present under the base, probably an internal manufacturing reference.
Condition:
Very good overall condition. Light wear to the gilding consistent with age. No cracks or chips.
