- Object History
This refined 800 silver basket belonged to the Calò family, originally from Southern Italy, where for decades it has embellished the table on the most important occasions.
It was purchased in Florence in the late 1950s by Michele Calò as a gift for his wife Teresa, during a trip that marked the beginning of their life together. Chosen among the city’s artisanal workshops, the basket impressed with its elegance and delicate pierced finish, typical of Italian tradition.
Over the years, it has witnessed many family moments.
Passed down through the generations, the basket still preserves today the charm and memory of three generations.
Put up for auction not only as a precious silver object, but as an authentic testimony of family history and Italian tradition.
