"Sonnensturz" tells of a moment when the light does not gently fade, but instead hurls itself with full force into the depths. The red acts like a glowing memory, like a heartbeat, like something that burns and at the same time warms. Beside it stands the yellow – wide, open, almost hopeful – as if it were catching the fall or giving it meaning.

In this painting the sun does not simply set. It plunges – bravely, passionately, perhaps also exhausted – into a space of light. It is a meeting of heat and vastness, of urging and releasing. Like a person who has given everything and now lets go, not out of weakness but out of devotion.

"Sonnensturz" feels like an inner upheaval: intense, overwhelming, yet clarifying. A moment in which something old burns away and, in the same breath, something new shines forth.
