Description from the seller
color serigraph by Eduardo Paolozzi (1924–2005) pioneering role in the development of British Pop Art and his lifelong fascination with technology, machinery, and visual culture. Created in 1980 for the renowned portfolio Art Zanders ’80, this work presents a complex, almost circuit-like composition, combining architectural elements, mechanical schematics, and figurative fragments into a cohesive and visually engaging whole.
Paolozzi, often associated with artists such as Richard Hamilton, Peter Blake, David Hockney, and Allen Jones, was instrumental in shaping post-war British art. His work also resonates with broader international movements and dialogues, connecting to figures such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, and even earlier influences like Fernand Léger and Marcel Duchamp. In this print, one can also sense affinities with the structural and conceptual approaches of artists like Jean Tinguely, Victor Vasarely, and Eduardo Chillida.
