Drawing/watercolor 43 x 33, original by Alcide le Beau, painter of the Pont-Aven school, friend of Gauguin.
Alcide le Beau (Lorient 1878-Sanary 1943) is considered a Fauvist.
As a painter, he produced a few rare drawings like this one from 1905, from a series inspired by the "Tentation de St-Antoine" written by Gustave Flaubert: which explains the text on the back: "the second ...."
He signs as often: A le B, as you can see at the bottom right.
This drawing was exhibited at the Durand-Ruel gallery in 1911.
Fragile paper which will be mounted under glass during fabrication.
