Eddu 2004 is a 15-year-old French buckwheat whisky from Distillerie des Menhirs, distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2019 at 70 cl and 45% ABV with original packaging.

If you’ve made the brilliant move of escaping the summer heat for Brittany, you’re already on the right track. But to turn a great trip into something truly unforgettable, skip the cliché souvenirs and head straight to the iconic Distillerie des Menhirs near Quimper.
This legendary French distillery, known worldwide for its buckwheat whisky, has crafted something genuinely exceptional with the Eddu 2004 vintage. A rare gem, aged 15 years — which is almost unheard of in French whisky — it carries a unique twist: 100% malted buckwheat, a bold technique originally abandoned by founder Guy Le Lay.
And then, almost like a story written by fate, three forgotten casks were rediscovered. What emerged is pure magic — a whisky matured in cognac barrels, bursting with notes of lemon cake and ripe yellow fruits, yet still holding a vibrant, youthful edge.
As if that wasn’t enough, an equally forgotten pommeau cask from 2004 resurfaced, revealing an intense red hue and deep aromas of aged blackcurrant liqueur. Only 694 bottles exist — and they’re exclusively available at the distillery.
