The history of the Mitterteich factory begins in 1887. It was founded by Ludwig Lindner. In 1895 the factory was taken over by Mosanic Pottery Max Emanuel & Co. of London. The company was confiscated by Bavarian authorities during World War I. From 1917 it operated as Porzellanfabrik Mitterteich A.G. The number of employees reached 300. Due to growing demand, a second plant was built in 1925 and another in 1937.
