In this work I explore the idea of identity as something multiple, changing and in constant construction. The face is not presented as a stable unit, but as a fragmented surface where different versions of the same being coexist. Each plane, each color and each stroke respond to a different facet: what we are, what we show, and what remains hidden.
Duplicity is not framed as a conflict, but as coexistence. There is no rupture between the two halves, but a silent tension that keeps them together. Both gazes inhabit the same space, yet seem to respond to different states, as if consciousness unfolds in several directions at the same time.
The geometric construction of the face reinforces this idea. The shape does not seek to imitate reality, but to interpret it. Through fragmentation, the figure becomes an emotional map, where the rational and the intuitive are intertwined. Identity thus appears as a process, not a closed definition.
The use of color intensifies this duality. Warm, vibrant and expressive tones coexist with cooler, more contained areas, creating a balance between impulse and control. This chromatic relationship not only structures the composition, but also suggests different internal states coexisting in the same body.
“Otra Versión de Mí” is not a portrait, but an open question: how many versions inhabit a single identity? The work invites the viewer to recognize themselves in that multiplicity, in that constant play between what we are and what we can become.
