Description from the seller
Iconic art print after Wassily Kandinsky – “The Arrow” (1943)
(our last copy in this auction)
For sale is a high-quality art print after a powerful late-work by Wassily Kandinsky.
Wassily Kandinsky is regarded as one of the founders of abstract art and counts among the most influential artists of classical modernism. His works hold high art-historical significance worldwide and enjoy solid demand on the international art market.
The motif “The Arrow” from 1943 belongs to his later works and shows a developed, expressive visual language in which organic forms, dynamic lines, and precise color composition merge into a tense overall structure. Works from this phase are particularly interesting as they reflect Kandinsky’s mature artistic position between free abstraction and structured composition.
Such motifs are among Kandinsky’s sought-after works, as they convey his characteristic combination of color, movement, and inner expression especially clearly and have a high recognition value.
The present art print was durably produced in offset printing on sturdy canvas paper and impresses with its special surface effect as well as its clear, color-intensive depiction. The format of approx. 60 × 48 cm gives the work a balanced presence and makes it versatile — suitable for collectors as well as for modern interiors.
Printed and published by Kunstverlag (circa 1980–1990), obtained directly from the publisher’s stock and professionally stored away from light since then.
An expressive and comparatively rarely offered motif from one of the most important pioneers of abstract art.
