Ouchebti inscribed, a white glazed faience shabti from the Third Intermediate Period (ca. 1070–720 BC), 21st–22nd Dynasty, with a black hieroglyph column, tripartite black wig, arms crossed on the chest holding agricultural tools, a rectangular grain-sack on the reverse, height 9.6 cm, in good condition with restoration to mid-height and neck, provenance United Kingdom, Galerie A.P.L., acquired 2024.
Description from the seller
Ouchebti (also called oushebti or shabti) in white glazed faience with verdant glaze details added in black:
The figurine wears a tripartite black wig; the arms are modeled, crossed on the chest, and the hands hold agricultural tools.
It bears a ventral column of black hieroglyphs, inscribed on the figure.
A rectangular seed bag is painted on the reverse.
Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st–22nd Dynasties, circa 1070-720 BC.
This molded ceramic Ouchebti is in good condition – restoration up to mid-height and at the neck.
