Photographer Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images

Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.

New Series – Lost Souls

With this series, David Law dives into minimalist and dark universes, inhabited by suspended phantom silhouettes. These indistinct, almost erased presences drift through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual narrative built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A silent crossing, at the borders of the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Production

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by an authenticity certificate. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in back mount. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with UV and moisture-resistant soft laminate, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern, contemporary look.

Career

Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual work, he develops authorial and musical projects including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he is currently performing with the band FRENZY.
