Photographer Artist – Creator of contemporary images

Multidisciplinary photographer artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on the gaze, presence and perception of the image in urban space. He first came to note with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a disturbing, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

New series – Lost Souls

With this series, David Law dives into pared-down, dark universes, inhabited by suspended ghostly silhouettes. These indistinct presences, almost erased, wander through strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language built with the help of contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notions of isolation, trace and memory. A silent journey, at the borders of the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Fabrication

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artists proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with soft UV and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern, contemporary look

Parcours

Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. In parallel with his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musical body of work including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
