Photographer-Artist – Creator of contemporary imagery

Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave rise to an art book published in 2021. Drawn to the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection.

New series – Lost Souls

With this series, David Law dives into pared-down, dark universes, inhabited by suspended ghostly silhouettes. These indistinct, almost erased presences roam in strange landscapes where emptiness becomes matter. Through a visual language built with contemporary graphic tools, the artist explores the notion of isolation, of trace and memory. A silent journey, at the boundary between the visible and the invisible.

Edition & Fabrication

Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with an integrated back mount. Printing on bright white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum panels, with soft UV- and humidity-resistant lamination, guaranteeing excellent durability, great longevity, color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering.

Parcours

Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a body of work as author and musician including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
